DrOnline
The Digital Bridge Between
Doctor and Patient

How We Designed and Implemented an EMR System for Doctors and Their Patients
DrOnline, a provider of medical treatment to everyone from their homes with US certified doctors across the globe.
We began by exploring the needs of doctors and patients through research and conversations. This helped us focus on key features like quick access to records, simple scheduling, and secure communication.
The interface was designed to be clean and intuitive across both desktop and mobile platforms, with usability in mind for all age groups and levels of digital experience.
Using an agile process, we developed a scalable EMR system that ensures performance, security, and long-term flexibility. The result is DrOnline—a tool that simplifies healthcare for doctors and gives patients modern, accessible care.

DrOnline had to bridge a generational gap between experienced and younger doctors by offering a system that feels intuitive to both groups.
We also faced cultural differences between the U.S. and UAE markets, from interface language to user expectations and norms.
Another key challenge was enabling seamless teamwork between doctors and nurses, while giving patients tools to manage visits and family care.
Our aim was to build a flexible, doctor-focused app for managing calendars, clinics, and communication—regardless of experience level.
We designed DrOnline to adapt across cultures and regions, delivering value in both American and Emirati healthcare settings.
We also wanted to empower patients with easy appointment booking, health tracking, and multi-profile support for families.
Scope of work
We designed and developed a dual-platform system: a web and mobile app for doctors, and a separate mobile app for patients.
The doctor interface includes features like scheduling, EMR management, video consultations, and collaboration tools for medical staff.
The patient app allows appointment booking, health data tracking, multi-profile management, and secure communication with doctors.
The system was built to support international markets, with localization, cultural adaptation, and compliance with healthcare regulations in the U.S. and UAE.

How Did We Create
a Fully Comprehensive
Doctor’s Tool?
We took an agile, iterative approach—testing with real users and refining constantly. Close collaboration across teams helped us respond fast to feedback and build DrOnline: a powerful tool that helps doctors manage their practice and lets patients access care anytime, anywhere.

Bridging the Gap
Between Old and New
During DrOnline’s development, we reviewed existing EMR systems—many were outdated, overly complex, or visually clunky. Younger doctors struggled with legacy tools, while older ones felt lost in fast, modern apps. Our challenge was to bridge this generational gap and design a solution intuitive and accessible for all.
Fully Responsive Core Experience
At the heart of DrOnline is a seamless video call experience—fully responsive across devices. Patients can consult doctors from anywhere, while doctors can bring in other specialists during the same call to review test results or discuss treatment in real time.
This collaborative setup ensures faster decisions, clearer communication, and a more complete view of each patient’s case—all within one smooth, integrated interface.
